Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment has signed an important deal with one of the most iconic football clubs in the world, Manchester United. The group announced today that the three year deal will allow it to advertise its services at Old Trafford, home to the football club which is visited by 75,000 die hard fans each and every week.
Bwin’s brand will also be incorporated into Manchester United’s official website, providing maximum exposure for the European bookmaker and sports betting giant. Manchester United has around 569 million followers outside of Europe, providing unprecedented opportunity for Bwin to showcase its wares.
“As Europe’s leading online sports betting operator, football is fundamental to our long-term success, making up approximately half of our total sports betting revenue of 261m euros in 2011,” said Norbert Teufelberger, co-chief executive of Bwin.Party. “Man Utd has 569 million followers outside of Europe, providing us with a great opportunity to offer jointly designed and innovative products in countries that do not yet allow real money online sports betting,” he said
Bwin.Party already sponsors a top football club and has been shirt sponsor for Spanish giant FC, Real Madrid for a while now.
The commercial link up between Manchester United and Bwin.Party is far from the only one signed with the football club. Manchetser United also has lucrative deals with the insurance broker AON, as well as a number of other top brand. The team debuted on the New York Stock Exchange last week.
